MOTM 410 - 440 polystyrene caps

MOTM 410 - 440 polystyrene caps

2006-10-02 by edibennardo

I've just assembled a 440 kit and I'm now assembling a 410 kit.
Question: Should I use organic solder with polystyrene caps and
obviously wash the board?
In the 440 manual it seems these must be soldered in after the last
wash using no clean solder while in the 410 manual it seems they are
soldered with organic solder and board has to be washed afterwards.
Which of the two versions is the correct one? Many thanks.

In general, are there some (or all) caps that should
not be washed for some reason?

a) the polystyrene caps should *not* be washed

b) all others are OK to wash, but in general I only wash the ceramic axial caps
and the yeloow box caps
