Hi All,
I just stumbled upon this image: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Synthesis_Technology_MOTM.jpg
To me the cabinet appears to be intriguingly shallow, anyone knows details about it?
(maybe too shallow for some modules?
Thanks, Michael.

These are SKB popup mixer cases. If you lay them flat you can lift the modules up at an angle on ratcheting arms. They won't accommodate all MOTM format modules. Definitely not something like the Blacet Time Machine in MOTM format. Other than that limitation they're great.

I have one of these SKB cases. Very handy for creating a small travel synth from my bigger system. It also looks quite nice. However, the clasps to keep the cover on are a little underdesigned, the cover can come undone rather easily. Still, good bank for the buck. I was planning a panel to use up the remaining space with mults, a stereo headphone amp and a power connection, but never got around to it. Not sure but I thought someone else had created a panel for this space. George

If someone wants a heavier duty case (that weighs more of course!) and doesn't need the popup functionality fixed position cases designed for live mixers can work really well. Here's a picture of a EWI case I'm using. I modified it so the rails are parallel to the case bottom instead of being angled. It's considered a 12U with extra depth. I changed the angle of the rail mounts and swapped in some 14U rails: http://s275.photobucket.com/albums/jj304/JohnLRice/?action=viewt=Port ablePortable2.jpg These cases are a great value! Here's a link to the case on the seller's site (Audiopile.net). It's only $120 plus shipping! http://www.audiopile.net/products/Cases/Mixer_Cases/MXC-12L/MXC-12L_cutsheet .shtml They also have standard 10U and 12U mixer racks you could use as-is or modify to be flat. (only $100 and $110 respectively) http://www.audiopile.net/products/Cases/Mixer_Cases/MXC-008/MXC-008_cutsheet .shtml John L Rice > -----Original Message----- > From: motm@yahoogroups.com [mailto:motm@yahoogroups.com] On Behalf Of > groovyshaman > Sent: Friday, December 23, 2011 8:35 AM > To: egroups@...; MOTM List > Subject: Re: [motm] cabinet depth > > I have one of these SKB cases. Wow, sorry for all the fractured links! :-( I added the picture of my rack to the misc section in the group photos. For the EWI cases at AudioPile go here and select the Mixer link: http://www.audiopile.net/products/Cases/Case_products_page.shtml > -----Original Message----- > From: motm@yahoogroups.com [mailto:motm@yahoogroups.com] On Behalf Of John L > Rice > Sent: Friday, December 23, 2011 11:16 AM > To: 'MOTM List' > Subject: RE: [motm] cabinet depth > > If someone wants a heavier duty case (that weighs more of course!) and > doesn't need the popup functionality fixed position cases designed for live > mixers can work really well. > > Here's a picture of a EWI case I'm using. If anyone is interested in this type of case I have two of the Gator Cases G-MIX-12 PU that are brand new in their boxes that I'd like to sell. These are an inch deeper than the SKB cases. http://gatorcases.com/Default.aspx?Section=Products&Page=Details&CategoryID=4534&CatalogID=9149 --- In motm@yahoogroups.com, David Moylan <dave@...> wrote:
