If you look at the '800 schematic, you will notice a reversed-biased diode
on the base of the first transistor (generates the NO GATE signal). What's
it there for?.....Hmmm.....  :)

paul,
having neither an 800 eg or a schematic, my guess would be that it would 
provide, if provided with a jack on the panel, a gate / trigger when the 
normal gate turns off. if tapped, maybe suitable for use recycling or 
triggering eg`s in series - ?

To allow bipolar pulse waves as gate signals (without blowing up the tranny) 
of course! (I answer all these rhetorical questions in the hope that there 
will be some sort of prize eventually -- even if it is only due to tenacity)

But I still wonder if the audio signals of the 303 would have a quick enough 
transition time to predictably gate an EG (anybody?) -- I hope this will be 
tried and a report will be made to the list.

Did someone say EG? See my next post!
