Which leads me to thinking... wouldn't assembling a MOTM be the perfect thing
for those long boring flights? Somehow I don't think the airlines would take
kindly to a 12v soldering iron plugged into a power outlet, nor would your
co-passengers appreciate you tinkering with wires and electrical components.
But it would be a great activity while flying alone...

You think you have it bad! My apartment complex rewired the electrical
system, and completely screwed it up. My MOTM will work everywhere BUT my
apartment. Haven't played in almost two months.

I've brought this up a few times in the past and it has certainly been talked about
in the context of a sequencer (DoMAS). I have thought about getting a 3U Doepfer
rack for the Theremin controlers and a dual quantizer. Fortunately, other things
have kept me busy enough to not do that just yet but I'll probably time out in the
fall if there aren't more solid plans for one in place.

Paul won't include a compressor in the MOTM lineup in the near future
because of the RNC.
Paul won't include build a stand alone synthesizer in the near future
because of the FR-777.
Paul won't include a sequencer (MOAS/DoMOAS/MoAss) in the MOTM lineup in the
very near future because of the new FR Sequencer being released in the next
couple of months.
Paul won't include a MIDI to CV convertor in the MOTM in the near future
because of Kenton (this includes analog keyboards too).

I am not Paul. These things are not crossed off the list. They just have a
lower priorities because of the excellent alternatives currently available
from what I understand.

I hope this comes across correctly.

i could be easily wrong here but wasn`t a quanitizer supposed to be part of
the upcoming "mother of all sequencers" ?

Who knows what's really going on? I do seem to remember that MOAS is gone,
DoMOAS is way off in the distance, and I believe two or three months ago
there was an initial ping about a ("simple") semitone quantizer -- Stooges
like me jumped in and started requesting it be programmable to diatonic,
pentatonic modes, and microtonal temperaments. This was followed by a lengthy
silence which ended earlier today.

john,
i don`t want to get in trouble here for heresy but the "d" company makes a
simple quanitizer which is not too expensive and might fill the gap until a
motm replacement became available. i don`t think it is quite as versatile as
you might like ( i`m thinking microtones aren`t readily available.....gotta
go look at my doc`s again ) and for motm users, there are form factor issues,
etc.. i don`t have one of these so i can`t say how well it works but
everything else i have of theirs performs very well so i would expect this
would also. take a look at their website for more info on the module.
best,
dave v.

No plans for a stand-alone quantizer this year.
