I don't know this instrument at all, but have heard it was a very powerful
for its time and influential to modulars which were built after. As certain
threads develop here I'd be interested in hearing specific features of the
2500 which you find useful and might influence future MOTM modules. We have
people on the list who will regularly compare features of modulars from Moog,
Emu, Serge, and others for future MOTM modules.

If you build a cabinet, make sure you first design it for every module you
can imagine buying in the next three years -- and then double that size so
you don't run out of room.

Per Paul's request, I'm briefly introducing myself to the
motm list as I've just purchased my first modular (ah
system 1 with the 440 filter instead of the 420 [I already
have an ms20], assembled - I know very little about
electronics). My only other experience with modulars is an
ARP 2500 that is here at the Kansas State U. electronic
music studio (run by Hanley Jackson). Paul was kind
enough to spend at least an hour and one-half disussing
motm modulars and my purchase - thanks Paul. Looking
forward to adding modules periodically and exploring their capabilities.

JB, I'll try and keep this in mind - in fact, I'm taking this week off and
will be using the ARP 2500 a few mornings.
