Bad trader alert

Bad trader alert

2000-09-28 by James Holloway

I bought A copy of The Allen Strange book "Electronic Music..." from
SYNTHESIZER NETWORK <network@...>. I thought I was pruchasing
an original Hardbound copy but instead received a Photocopy! The photo
copy is legible but I wanted the book for it's collectability as well
as the information. Anyway I ended paying $65.00 plus $25.00 shipping
for a D**n photocopy. I e-mailed them about it and they offered to buy
the book back and replied that they have ten other people who will be
willing to buy it. FINE!! Let them just make more Photocopies!! If I
send it back I will still be out the $25.00 shipping plus whatever it
costs to ship it back to them.

Just be aware that these guys may not be perfectly honest.
Rant off

By contrast, I purchased a copy of the book that was very nicely copied and
bound from Rex at Serge. I cannot remember exactly what I paid, but I think
it was around $30. The text is very readable, but some of small print in
the illustrations is a little difficult. Anyone going that route, call him
on the phone. I tried his e-mail for 2 weeks with no luck. However, I got
him on the phone without any trouble. Even though I had never done business
with him before, he sent the book out before I even paid for it.

I'll support Larry on this - I had the same experience about 9 months ago
(although I didn't try e-mail, went directly with phone).
I wish Serges were sold in modules instead of panels - one of the reasons
I decided to go with motm.

You are right, we should be sharing this unless the company is around
and willing Like EMS, Serge. and the good peole who design this stuff.

A counterfeit Book ?

I had to pay $5 for a photocopy of a Moog circuit . A librarian made me
a whole set for paper 3 cents a page.

I am part of a growing group of people who will only deal with decent
people. GW
