This can be a fun thing to play with, especially if you have some way to
quantize the output for VCO use. Adding another four stages of binary
counter makes it MUCH more complex in terms of output patterns.

I built quite a few versions of this "way back when". They are a "semi
random" sequencer type of device, because it's pretty hard to completely
control the output. This can be a good thing, though...

Regards.

Hhhhmmmm,

I "would" pay the extra fifteen bucks. More the better for me.

Anybody ever build the Blacet Digital Pattern Generator? He has schemaitcs
on his site for it. If so send comments OL, thanks

I've never built one but it looks interesting. I have used a diy version of
Blacet's Event Arranger module which John also has on his page -- I think
it's called a VC Clock and Event Arranger. I often confuse the EA with the
DPG. The EA section (very simple CMOS stuff) is great for synchronizing
multiple sequencers and gated events with different patterns -- I actually
think this is the module that should've been called the Digital Pattern
Generator, since it generates multiple patterns which are digital.

The EA is one of the most useful modules I've ever used, the only drag with
the module is the number of switches involved which either make the module a
bit expensive (if one uses toggles as I plan to) or look kind of cheesy (if
one uses the DIP switches which the old Blacet module used).

It's a great module! Someone should release a new version of it.

Hint hint!
