does anyone know a good supplier to get the 1/4" star type lock washers
for the back of the switchcraft jacks? also, could someone explain to me
the difference between a motm oscillator "sound" and the sound of any
other oscillator (i.e.: minimoog or tb-303) i always thought that
besides stability and modulation options, oscillators were essentially
the same. is the difference in the purity of the waveshapes? as i looked
through tony allgoods site, i found myself wondering this. -nate

While on that subject, has anyone ever found a good source of the chrome
"dressing washers" that go behind the jack nuts on the front panels? When
you buy Switchcraft jacks, they don't come with them.

I've used this place with success for some of my hardware needs:
http://www.aaronsmachinescrews.com/

Kind of an exhausting process to specify the hardware down to the
level you need to select what you want, but cheap and comprehensive.
It takes a couple of weeks for the order to arrive.

The nickel-plated toothed washers I order from a large wholesale hardware
company. I have
to order 1000 at a time. Please, I'm not a hardware store. I know DIY is fun
and all, but
you guys are on your own in this realm.

The "dress washers" are from Switchcraft. I buy from Newark. I tried to find
some replacements
(for my Moog 15) but couldn't find anything close at all.

The Switchcraft jacks I ordered from Mouser came with the dress washers... Could it be that your supplier forgot to include your washers??? I found star lock washers at Home Depot in their wall of odds, ends, nuts and bolts... They were loose stocked in one of little drawers and they were cheap....

Some hardware sources:

-- Extra nut for back side of pots (brass)
 -- Mouser part # 481-0095 fig AA, M 9.5 x .75 price $0.32

These are VERY nice but a bit expensive. Still, I found them perfect for
thaty 2nd nut you need on the back side of pots so that tightening the pot
on the panel does not stress the pot. They are for the BACK side as they
are brass in appearance.

I also found, but have not ordered them yet. They are supposed to tbe the
exact same thread.

-- Pot Hex nuts - chrome, fits all 3/8 bushing pots
-- Electronic Goldmine part # G145 10/$1 50/$3

-- Lock washer for back of switchcraft jacks
   (different than Paul's)
-- Mouser part # 481-0680 fig BB, size 10, price 5.6 cents
    each in quantity 100

However, you can find these at most hardware stores. But, at Lowes the darn
things were
12 cents each. I found them at Furrows for 6 cents each.

Ken, they are supposed to come with the jacks. They
have each time I have purchased them.
