It's a Bulgin Switch. I thought Polyurethane was a foam. Acrylic was around in 1970, but yes, it could be a transparent polystyrene. Someone turned up about seven of these things on ebay a couple of years ago. They were the complete switch. It's the only reason I have a little red cap now. I think they went for between $20 and $25 each. If you could keep the cost low enough, I'm sure you could sell all you wished to produce.
