Hi Owen

 

Have you been able to discern and more or less recreate what Pinder is
playing in "The Word" or do you know if there's a 

version out there with just the tron part?

I think that the deepest sound you're hearing on the E-B-E bits might be
(shock horror) a 
real Double Bass (bowed). There's a strong bow-sound ahead of the last but
one occurrence. 
... Although the 3 violins sound like they're half-speed ...

Moodies used real cellos and d-bass occasionally back then. Bass flute can
be heard on 
other recordings too.
