The tone control on my M400 has a noticeable difference up to about 
11:00, then it doesn't seem to make much difference...or maybe my 
ears are just too shot to tell the difference. I usually set the tone 
control around 8:00-9:00 and I run my amplifier and mixer with the 
tone controls flat.
