Well, I concur on almost everything. Especially the bit about me being a Mellotron God. Not so sure about Doddy though. :-) As much as I may love the sound of the instrument, it CAN sound like shit in the hands of the unwary. 'Changes' by Black Sabbath is a fairly good place to start, where someone on a plate reverb with no idea of a Mellotron's attack is forever about a quarter beat behind the rest of the band. As for 'utterly out-of-tuneness' I can't see past Mannfred Mann's hit singles which seem to be written and played in about five microtonally different keys. At the same time.
