Open the back panel and look at the motor. On the mounting plate there is a
bolt you can loosen that will allow you to ease the tension on the belt a
bit. Your machine may well reach operating speed a little quicker.

Hey, don't get me wrong. I don't have any love affair with my CMC-10. A
replacement is the next thing on my list. I'm not keeping the CMC-10 much
longer. But keep in mind that I've never experienced a perfectly working
Mellotron with a new motor card. But I do hear a lot of wow and flutter on those
Yes and Genesis Mellotrons.

No... You have a distorted understanding of what it should be and how it
should work. SMS boards replaced the CMC-10 early on. Today, the SMS-2
(Streetly) and SMS-5 (Markus) are very similar to the original SMS-2 and SMS-3.
The CMC was a piece of shit. That's why an improvement was found early on.
No more waiting 45 minutes. You turn it on and (assuming everything is
properly adjusted) go. Plus, you don't go flat when you play depress a bunch of
keys at the same time.

How do you depress the keys, you ask? Why you threaten to introduce them
to Rick. (Bada Bing)
