Mellotron M4000

2013-04-12 by Dieter

Hello!

I've bought an M4000! Yesterday I was with Martin and John in their magical place and we had a great time. Apart from making the best Mellotron you ever heard, they are wonderful people with a great sense of humor.

I was quite nervous playing the first chord on my new tron at Streetly, but what I heard just a few seconds later when I played a Cm6 with the "Gothic" sound, made me happy as a child. They put hard work in the instrument and the result is extraordinary!

As they will probably read this message as well:
THANK YOU, John and Martin!

It's like the voice of God is talking right to you through the Mellotron, isn't it? ;)

Congratulations Dieter!
It's one well built machine, don't you agree?
Has a personality like the M400, and that suits me fine.
Enjoy it my friend!

The hangover was quite OK in the end...
The blown head gasket, that's a different story. I was very lucky to end up in Ghent after a days drive with a broken car. Now it's up to the garage...

Thanks again!

Tape set:

Piano - vibes - Gothic
MKII Flute - Ian McDonalds Flute - Oboe
Boys Choir - 8choir - Russian Choir
Violin - MKII Violins - String Section
American Pump Organ - Wilden Church Organ - St John's Church Organ
Sad Strings - Angry Strings - Cello
Moog Taurus - Moog Whoosh - Moog Brass
Fairlight Arr1 - Fairlight Saxy - Fairlight Swannee

And very happy with those sounds though according to some people I should have stayed with more classic sounds :-)
