These were manufactured by Viscount for Gibson and are highly regarded among those I know who haveon, including a prominent Waldorf/PPG owner I know. I don't expect it sounds like a real Oberheim, but it does have one of the better user interfaces fora virtual analog synth. Probably worth between 600-900$ though I've seen them go for more. If you get one give us a full report! -pc On Dec 16, 2010, at 5:45 AM, repoman123@... <repoman123@...> wrote: > very naisily and thin, and this is coming from someone who's looking at buying a waldorf. Not strictly an oberheim, this is when Gibson took over I think or at least the name was sold to them. Good for weird pads, take a look at jexus' videos on youtube. The only problem with his videos is he can get the best out of anything so if your not that great at synthesis it can sometimes be hard to achieve what he does with synths. > > Sent from my HTC > > > ----- Reply message ----- > From: "LarryS" <vision1@...> > To: <oberheim@yahoogroups.com> > Subject: [oberheim] OB12 > Date: Thu, Dec 16, 2010 02:54 > > > > Has anyone come across or had any experience with the somewhat short-lived OB-12? > > It seemed to take a beating among the analog purists... but I never actually got my fingers on one. > > Anyone know much about it? >
