OB-8 Filter

OB-8 Filter

2013-11-12 by Denny Chandler

I have a OB-8 w/ factory midi.
One of the voices now sounds like the filter is wide open.
On any patch.
I have retuned, recalibrated. to no avail.
Anyone have this problem and anyone know of a fix?

Thanks,
Denny

Sounds like one of your filter chips is fried. On my OB-Xa each voice card has a discrete filter chip. I think it is the same with the OB-8. Likely, this chip is dead on one voice board. You should try re-seating it at least before you throw it out for a replacement.

Good Luck.

Yes it could be the CEM3320 filter chip for that voice. Try swapping it with another voice and see if the problem follows it. If you need a new chip I have them in stock.
