I would like to control this baby with midi editors. But all of my attempts lead to the Matrix spewing it's brains. I have come to the conclusion that I need an updated OS. Does anyone know where or could anyone burn me the correct OS so that my matrix will work with these midi editors. I am willing to pay. There has to be some Oberheim Supreme here, I would really appreciate it.

I don't know where to point you for this. I know several people with prom burners, but none of them are Oberheim owners. -----Original Message----- From: oberheim@yahoogroups.com [mailto:oberheim@yahoogroups.com] On Behalf Of grokjester69 Sent: Wednesday, October 10, 2007 8:33 PM To: oberheim@yahoogroups.com Subject: [oberheim] Re: I have a Matrix 6 Keyboard, Does anyone know where to get New OS ROM? I can't even figure out if there IS a newer prom. Mine is version 1.05 Someone that had a newer one could have it sucked into a file for download, then anyone can burn it anywhere pretty much. On the bright side, I figured out tonight that If you put the m6 into "stereo" mode all of a sudden it will function perfectly as a midi control surface. Why mono vs stereo matters so much, I haven't the slightest idea. Thanks to MOTU Unisyn design folk for putting that tip in a help file. Using the M6 to control other stuff takes some of the sting out of having an analog synth I can't program easily. so that fixes half my problem, the other unsolved half being uploading patches. I either get timed out messages on synth responses, or invalid header responses if I get tricky and try the midi thru port. So few m6 keyboards are out there I figure I solve it myself or sell it, hopefully someone proves me wrong and ends my agony :) Steve --- In oberheim@yahoogroups.com, "Nicole Massey" <nyyki@...> wrote: > > I don't know where to point you for this. My friend who fixes keyboards has this item, but no
Matrix to test it with. He'll make me a copy and send
it, no problem. I still have my Matrix 6 keyboard, and
can check functionality. There may be documentation,
as he mentioned a change in MIDI spec

Which editors did you try? My Matrix 6 has behaved
fine with Voyetra Seq+ from ver2 to the last ver,
Unisyn on PC, SoundDiver on W95, 98, 98SE, W2000 pro
an mac os9.0 to 9.2
