AHHH sound

AHHH sound

2014-06-06 by richtrix@...

I can't really find any info out there on the interweb on how to create the AHH sound with an analog synth. Something like the sound that comes in on this song around 20 seconds http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9IIbbFIQTKI&feature=kp

Anyone know if this is possible on an OBXa? To date I have not been able to find anything close. If it is not then what can do it? The band above uses NORDs I'm pretty sure but there must be some analog gear that makes that sound.

Sincerely,
Rich

Apparently they're using a Roland D50, which is digital......but an Ensoniq ESQ-1 will get you there and it's a digital/analog hybrid.....but to get there in analog you could get a Roland VP-330......I'm presuming you have deep, deep pockets

Yeah I have certainly heard this sound on a lot of digital PCM waveform sysnths

It would be worth looking into formant filtering - you can achieve this via plugins in post or there are some modular options available too I believe.
You essentially want a few key resonant peaks in your filter, and their placement dictates the Ahh vs Oooh vs Eeeh:

Move to quarantaine

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
