Perf/X Eprom Type

Perf/X Eprom Type

2015-01-03 by snugglepussyisme@...

I'm about to buy an eprom burner to convert my strummer into a drummer. Could someone inform me as to what kind of blank eprom I need to purchase?

Thanks!

27C256 any speed will do... for instance 27C256-25 (25 for 250 nanoseconds)

As a note to anyone having issues with their Perf/X units, I wanted to report that I was successful in getting my Strummer to accept the Drummer EPROM I burned. However, afterwards I was having difficulty with the unit crashing. At first I thought it must be something with the EPROM, but I read over on Gearslutz that the Perf/Xs need clean, stable power to operate properly. So I measure the voltage coming from the stock wall-wart, and I was quite surprised to find that it was spitting out over 14 volts. I then switched to a spare requlated 9v wall-wart, and all the issues I was having disappeared. My unit now syncs to midi clock beautifully and doesn't crash randomly.

Hi Snuggles. I just bought a Perf/X strummer. Could I have you burn some EPROMs for me? Drummer and Cyclone? Shoot me a message and we can talk about it if you are interested

Thanks,
Rich

Sure I don't mind burning them if you send me blank eproms. This board doesn't show your full email address though, so I'm not sure how to message you.
