matrix1000 editor

2006-04-21 by pirimai_north

My brother & I just scored 2 matrix1000's and the only editors have
been PC.We both use older Macs 9.1 PowerPc's and need a basic older
editor as I really want to get into the guts of those monster
sounds. What sites are available for more patches as The first 200
would be nice to replace with non doubled up sounds.

Cheers from Aotearoa

Is the only prgram I know of but it's not cheap. There is a great
editor for OS X called Obie Editor that is freeware. I know that
dosent' help you but it might help another on the list.

You could try to find an older sounddiver version that runs on OS9 ...

...Summa

Syquest's editor comes in a multi-flavor version called MidiQuest and
a single flavor M1000 only version called Uniquest.

They are a great editor and if you got a deal on the hardware, put the
money into some good software, you won't regret it...Your time is
worth money you.... never ever get it back , and good software saves
you time and pays for itself quickly

the other option is to find a used Matrix6R, they average around $225-
250 on eBay although I got mine on Craigslist for well under $200,
you can program those to your hearts content and then load the 99 new
patches into the M1000's bank 1 or bank 2....hey and you also get
another synth.....there are also a lot of M6R patches on the net that
sysex right in to the M1000 , so although they are not "your patches"
many of them are quite good

my only issue with the M1000 is remembering which patch number I
like ...I have to keep a note card taped to it

If you can I would go with the UNiquest softeare. I have it and you can
always use for other synths you have. I use it for my Matrix 1000,
Roland Xv-5050, MX-8, Alesis QSR & S4+, Kurzweil 2500XS, and my EWi
4000s (a different version but same concept). It is an
Editor/Librarian. Here is their link. http://www.squest.com/
