OB-8 replacement keyboard?

OB-8 replacement keyboard?

2006-05-04 by jim9866363

Does anyone know how much (if it's even possible) it would be to
replace the keyboard on an OB-8? I just got one out of the 'Bay, and
the keyboard is shot. At least 55 of the keys don't work, and some are
just barely being held on.

Thanks!

jim

Hi...

I had few OB8 keyboards in my studio...(One is stil here)

I notice that not all OB8 have same keyboard.....
in some OB8 are keyboards and keys same as : POLYSIX, Memorymoog,
Prophet 600, Poly61........

in other OB8s there are not just plastic keys..that keys are very look
like this from Polysix but have metal part under key..sticked with glue
and some little diference in design...(I found same keys only on
Emulator II)

bouth are from same manufacturer....

send me a picture (of a key ..from bouth sides)...maybe I can help...If
its Polysix keyboard I have complet one working for
sale!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hope this helps...

Mine is from May of '83 or so, so it has the Panasonic keyboard, not
the Pratt-Read keyboard the earlier ones had.

Not something I'm really willing to consider with something this
size. I have a recently acquired OB-8 that needs attention; if I
can't adress its issues cheaply I'll just send it back. The keybed
isn't the only issue, but only 5 of the keys work.
