Hi Guys,

I am a member of many synth groups on Yahoo, and as most of you are aware
that Yahoo have made a decision to stop hosting user content starting
December 14, 2019.

This has been the successful solution of several of the other groups that I
am a part of. I received this message in my inbox a few days ago:

You have been added to PolySix@...

Hello,

The owner of the PolySix Yahoo Group has moved the group to Groups.io, a new
Groups service. You have been subscribed to the new group using your email
address. The name of the new group is VintageKorg+PolySix, and messages can
be sent to it at <mailto:PolySix@...>
PolySix@.... The group homepage is located
<https://VintageKorg.groups.io/g/PolySix> here.

Groups at Groups.io are similar to Yahoo Groups, but we have several new
features and we encourage you to explore the Groups.io website. If you have
never registered with Groups.io before, your account will not have a
password set yet. To log in, you can use the 'Email me a link to login'
button to have a link emailed to you that will let you log into the website.

You do not have to do anything to continue being a member of this group. If
you do not wish to be a member of VintageKorg+PolySix, click here and you
will be unsubscribed immediately.

If you have any questions, please contact <mailto:support@...>
support@....

Cheers,
The Groups.io Team

I hope this of some help to save this group. In the mean time I am making my
own copy of the Files and anything else worth keeping.

Any questions I can help with please don't hesitate to ask!

Kind regards,

Colin

I hope this of some help to save this group. And I'm hoping this catches on to the other valuable synth groups as well. In the mean time I am making my own copy of the Files and anything else worth keeping.

Hello,

I could create an html-based archive of the messages of this
yahoo-group, if the group owner can make the messages visible to
non-subscribers (including the login procedure to my scripting would be
much too much effort).
Examples can be seen at http://www.florian-anwander.de/yahoo/

Such an archive could be also hosted at the files-section of groups.io
assumingly.

I can recommend the move over to groups.io.
I am moderator of several groups here and moved them over there. And I
use it also for some private maillists. No advertisements, no appearent
datagrabbing, very good administration, and appearently they look after
whether groups are misused by spammers (or for spamming).

Florian

I'd be interested in this move, though right now it's my understanding that Groups.io has raised their cost of their premium package, which is required to use their migration tool.
I took a run through the files list, and there's some very useful content there. It's slow for me to get stuff because of the kinds of navigation issues my screen reader requires, so someone sighted could probably grab the files a lot faster.
