Matrix 6R Easter Egg

Matrix 6R Easter Egg

2009-08-24 by bernard.escaillas

Hello,

While testing sysex on my 'new' Matrix 6R, i found some strange thing:
In Quick Edit mode, when trying to send a value for parameter #100 (max allowed number is supposedly 99), the display shows some message...

For those who want to try, the sysex is:
F0 10 06 06 64 00 F7

I have uploaded a picture in the Photos section (album Misc).
You can see is looks like 'AlanSm7=QPOff'.
Probably the name of some Matrix 6 R developper.

Someone knows the full story behind this ?

P.S.: I have also tried the parameter 101, display shows a bunch of @ then the Matrix is locked... Needed to reboot while pressing the Yes button. I think i will stop experiment at this point before it gets worse ;)

There's a couple of inside jokes in there!

There was a patch in the Xpander called B Farts...... It sounded
about like what you are imagining!

There's an organ patch in the M6R called Bert's B. Bert was a very
cool Oberheim Exec who wrote most of the later manuals. Twas a fun
bunch of people working there in the mid 80's.

Move to quarantaine

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
