Back in the late 80s, I separated the keyboard from the module. It 
comes apart quite nicely, although the module wraps around to form a 
sort of upside U. I'd planned to install it in a different box but I 
changed my mind in the end and put it back.

I bought a Kenton Pro Solo for mine:

It works great with the MS20's HZ/V keyboard tracking and inverted 
triggers and has an additional aux out for controlling the filter.

Personally, I wouldn't modify mine more than that.
