There arent any individual volume pots. It might be well that one of the transistors which form the VCA is gone. Check Q5 and Q6 (standard although matched small signal npn transistors "2SC945"). You can skip the filter chip: remove it and then make a wire from pin1 to pin3 of the empty socket. Still distorted? Is SAW and PULSE louder than other voices? This should be easy to find with an oscilloscope and the schematics, but rather difficult without ... Good luck!
