I would replace both those 7408s in that area. the chips I used are nte7408. dont under etimate the power of the dark side (aka bad traces) I scratched all

Hi everyone! Just got into the exciting world of PolySix yesterday, when I was given two p6 s for free! One is in great shape, though suffered some battery

I found out that IC 1 pin 3 (the data pin) on the 370 board reads -2.3 and before it warms up. that as it warms up and I can hear the cutoff open, the voltage

You probably cleaned off some bad traces that were only conducting through the oxidized corrosion stuff. Look for those traces and replace them. Good luck!

I have used one for other repairs...my complaint about the pen is that the ink line can be fat and blobby compared to a fine trace , and wire can be very thin

Well, it s an interesting effect that baking soda has... from what I ve read, it will neutralize an acid or a base and produce different end products for each.
2007-12-07 by robin.b2@ukonline.co.uk
... Surely the issue here is that NiCd batteries actually have an alkali electrolyte, not acid.... maybe the stuff that leaks out is actually acidic but I

Can the acid permeate through the middle of the board? Such that cleaning the surfaces would be futile? Incidentally, what is the best method for cleaning
2007-12-04 by gil_we
The acid spreads everywhere in the area, you have to clean it all up when fixing the bad traces.
2007-12-03 by Chromatest J. Pantsmaker
Two reasons... Unless you cut out all the cancer, it will continue to spread. Even though it might just look like a dead trace, it might be bridging to a trace
