<< Anybody know what the "Lh" error code means ?? >> yep- it means the drive's fucked. try this link first, because this has come up before: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/prophet2000/ you will find this amongst relatively recent postings : >>the "LH" readout means "Locked Head" and, according to the WineCountry Sequential tech. staff is a terminal fault with the floppy drive.<< elsewhere, possible suitable replacements are listed: << Toshiba FDD4216G0K Sony MP-F53W-00D Canon MD-350 Sony 63W TEAC FD-235HF (thanks to nick bittakis) SONY MT-2 1-623-457-14 (new! thanks to david borman) >> I added these: sony mpf520-1 (jumper needs to be in inner position) epson smd-400 (jumpers across DC, MC and C0; you'll know what that means if you ever see one). I have some doubts as to the availability of these models but you never know when/where one will turn up. a citizen drive lifted from my long-dead sx16 would not work whatever I did with jumpers and switches. I was, some time ago, going to a) mail someone on this list my spare manual, and lost their snail-mail address, and b) write a quickie guide for sampling and setting up patches. then a bit of unpleasantness started over the exact model number of one of the aforementioned replacement drives (the teac), and the list went very quiet. coincident with this, I had some bad luck on e-bay and ended up with schemo's for a p3k instead of a p2k (I have a 2002+ and a 2k kybd but the latter is dead right now) and took this to be some sort of karmic thing..... I still intend to write a quick users guide as I think the instrument is fantastic-sounding. it's just so difficult to explain by description alone- maybe this is why stevie wonder liked the thing so much...... hasn't anyone got some webspace to spare? maybe I can scan the book and bung a pdf together..... duncan.
