It provides another way to save your library, among other things. I use it with this MIDI-USB adapter:

It works fine, but it is slower than a floppy. But at least you could save your library (in case your floppies are destroyed).

It's nice to hear that the HxC2001 works with the P2000, but I find that floppy emulator a bit
expensive. I read recently that the author of the HxC2001 software (not the HW manufacturer)has/will released a version that works with the cheaper chinese devices from Gotek.
The above solution is what I plan to implement, when I (finally) get around to transcribing my floppylibrary to SD card / USB stick.
