<<My main interest is to set up my Prophet to respond a certain MIDI channel.>> mode 3A, they call it in the book, though it's the most widely used midi mode now. then select the channel. in mode 3B, the machine can be bi-timbral and you need to press "execute" to see the other channel setting. be aware, though, that the dynamic allocation should be on and a mono connection made to the machine for anything like "normal" behaviour in 3A; if it's off, or if you use left + right outputs, you'll either only be 4-voice polyphonic or have the sounds bouncing around the stereo image. duncan.
