Anyone Mod'ed or Hacked a P2k keyboard ?

2005-11-07 by j gomez

I know this sounds sort of lame being that there is a Prophet 2002,
which is already a rackmount unit...
But, I have a semi-working P2K keyboard I still use & don't need the
keyboard part, but I love the filters, sounds & ease of use.

I've owned the Prophet 2002, Studio 440 & really like the P2K the best.
I use it mainly as a MIDI module & stand alone sampler.
My biggest gripe is in my cramped space it takes up alot of room, it's
so big & heavy!.

I thought it'd be really cool to house the main boards in a 2U rack
mount chassis & then route cable/wires to a new control panel in a
separate compact desk top box.

I have already disassembled mine & am ready to mount the guts & power
supply in a 2U rack I bought (fairly easy).
I'll be building a seperate (smaller) box which will be connected via
multi-conductor cable to the main boards (only 16 pins, easily done
with a DB25).

Anyone done such a thing?

I'm already triggering it via MIDI with the original keyboard assembly
  disconnected.
