>>I think you're right. Volume- pitchbend and mod might be its limits.<< don't forget "aftertouch".... I think you can map channel pressure to a couple of things... it's been a while, but I suspect it's mapped to the same destination(s) as the mod wheel though. [digs out manual...] yes, controller numbers 01 (mod wheel), 02 (breath controller), 03 (channel pressure) & 04 (foot pedal) all seem to be mapped onto whatever the mod wheel is doing. other recognised controllers are 07 (obviously- over-rides front panel volume, which may not be so obvious), 40 (hold), 45 (alternate release) & 7A (local on/off). these are all in hex. oh, & the usual preset selection & pitch wheel. it's limited, yes, but sometimes this is a good thing. for instance, I made a lot of patches with velocity crossfades in them..... >>For a 20 yr old sampler it still is great sounding.<< it is, after all, almost equivalent to a prophet five in it's main architecture, only with a sample-playback front-end instead of oscillators. I have stacks of emu stuff, but the p2k & p2002 just sound better. every time I load a floppy into it, I am amazed by the musicality of the noise that comes out. duncan.
