will be the only manual you will ever need to read on sampling (of any
instrument).<<

that hadn't occurred to me to mention- but it's absolutely true. I had
spent a few hours playing with an s900 before I got my 2002. after
working through the 2002 manual (& the quick guide, in the files
section, is a sort of executive summary/reminder), I was not only able
to drive the 2002 fully & confidently, but every other sampler I've
ever used, including the same P.O.S akai s900.

another thing- the 2002 operating system (did stanley have a hand in
this too?) is so straightforward that after many years away from the
instrument, I was able to x-fade/loop, map & tweak my samples like an
expert all over again.
good enough for stevie wonder, plenty good enough for me.
