It's most likely the floppy drive. I was getting the same thing, I cleaned the heads but it did not help. I changed the floppy drive and have not gotten the error/message again.

Hi,

many thanks,

any specific model number you switched it with as his drive is umm 1/2 height (larger then normal pc floppy) canon 350 i think his one is double sided as his 2000 is expanded.

Thanks

Probably the drive indeed,

Could also be a set of flaulty floppies.

Im getting errors on a specific pack of nos floppydisks all other disks seem to work fine for wirting and saving so it could be bad floppies as well.

If you have omniflop or similar you could try dumping a working disk and then copying that image to one of the nos disks and see if the disk then works.
If the nos disks are pre-formated for dos or something then the prophet may not like that. It may only like formatting brand new unformatted disks or disks that already have the prophet filesystem on them. Also just double check that the disks are of the correct type and not 1.44mb.

I am getting ND (no disk) rather than NF

After opening the case, I found that the rubber drive band from the motor to the disk spindle had rotted and snapped and was confident that I had discovered the cause.

I replaced the entire disk drive with a spare, but unfortunately I still get the ND message and I am a bit stumped.

Any suggestions ?

Move to quarantaine

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
