440 compact flash card hd

hi all, i just finished building a compact flas card reader external hd for the 440. i used and acard 7720-u scsi to ide bridge, ide to cf card adapter (single sided) and a norcent 512mg cf card. i had to finegal the scsi for a while. i kept getting "bus not free" error. so i tried combinations of jumper setings on the card (including id numbr) and then after fishing it our for little i remembered a post on the eIII forum about a guy changing the jumpers for termination (on the card) while it was on... i tried it then did a disk: reset scsi devices. and it found it. and alllowed me to format!!! the norcent 512 card didnt work on the emaxII i built recently. it seems the 440 was quite allright with it! i used an old 4x external scsi cd rom case to give me the power and the centronics 50 scsi connection, (its also very easy then to mechanically install and bend the metal and such to make a nice accessable case that you can switch cards then if needed..the 440 formatted 100 banks on the card.. so if anyone wants any help doing it just ask. no more loud drive noises or worries that the drives gonna kick. thanks! shawn rudiman
