Hi duncan, thanks for your reply. I might be mistaken, but i lost what i believe to be stock, original sound disks that might have been supplied with the unit when initally released. Since i went scouring last night for salvage, alas the disks were gone. Shipping from th UK would be a little costly, however "prophet tools" seems to be a suitable method in imaging existing disks, and you could email the files. Or perhaps a sysex sample dump might suffice... thanks thanks!

what sort of time-frame are we in, & what sorts of sounds would you like? I can copy some of mine for you, but I'm in the UK, so it may take a while for me to get the shipping together.

'kay.... I copied a lot of the factory discs when I bought mine; I can't easily refer back to the listing on (say) WC's site, because I picked, chose & cloned just what I wanted. I'm happy to send some floppies- it's easier for me just to make copies- but I'll need a steer as to what sounds you have lost that are most important. shipping shouldn't be too bad, & the discs are surplus-ish.

Hi Dunc

So I'm really not seeking any particular sounds that were of utter importance, I can make new any-sounds if need be. I'm a complete-hound, and I like to have Factory EVERYTHING when it comes to accessories on gear. SCI Released a small library of original samples make for the P2K/P2K2, 16 sounds per disk. Probably Piano, Bass etc, just the originals. I had these, but of course forgot what they were all about, until the disaster. I don't necessarily know if WC cloned these system libraries for sale on their site, but hey, if you have some images..... just as OP'd, seeking the original soundsets initally released for the units. Does anyone in our group have an Idea what I'm speaking of?

Regardless let me know. thanks thanks!!

problem is this- I got my 2002 from rod argent's store in london on what those across the pond would call "close-out", which meant I was able to snag the all-important 8-output & v4 at the same time. BUT it meant that they were down to their last set of factory disks, which they had to keep to support other users. in fact, I was able to borrow these for literally an afternoon at a time, & so in three sessions I had to visit the shop, copy stuff & return the disks the same day. so I just copied stuff that I liked, without paying any attention to the source disk numbers or names. of course, then I started editing things as well.... so I have a useful library for my purposes, but a museum-grade collection it ain't.
sorry. still, let me know if there's a particular sound you're having trouble locating.
one rainy day, I'm going to "port" my favourite sounds for my emu sampler & modules, & maybe even the blofelds.... long job. they won't sound the same either, but the 2002 is just too important to bash around at gigs. my 2000 died tears ago- bad keyboard controller IC, which WC couldn't replace. so the 3379s are now liberated for my big moog project, but that's another story.

Move to quarantaine

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
