ok i got an 2002+ some years ago. i sold it some months ago becouse i could not find a calbration disk for it. i found out it was kind of pointless to use it becouse the filters was so damn unequal. in my opinion, buy an sampler that can do more and is born after 2000.

i now have an emax 1 that i do not have an calibration disk for ither. :=( i have it becouse i did so much disks with that damn thing in late 80's until 1994 when i sold it, i must convert loads of disks to software kontakt or other more stable software. it's boring but sadly the truth. go and buy an nord wave or something similar instead, these old samplers ain't worth the trouble you're gonna face!

in the end it's music you're gonna make and not calibrating or repair these old stuff, inspiring death!

cheers.

/k

keep looking, they do pop up on Ebay every 4 months or so. Yes, the Emax 1 is also an option like the previous guy said. Software sounds like ass. It does seem like a science project sometimes getting these things to work right, but it's worth it. Software just gives me ear fatigue and there is nothing like these old real low pass filters and low bit rate. I am not even a fan of any new analog. Iti doesn't sound right to me either. I unfortunately sold a Studio 440 and I am looking for one now myself.

Just set your searches in Ebay and it will email you when one pops up. You can call Winecountry too and see if he has one laying around. Call Bruce Forat in Studio City, CA and see if he has one or know who's selling one. He's a great resource.

I had the same feeling about softwares till I've listened to U-he Diva. Some new analogue brands deserve hopefully some attention as for example GRP or Macbeth ...

I had the 440 and indeed it sounded great even the sequencer was not groove enough, sold it to buy a spectralis 2 which is sounding huge for VA
Just my 2 ct

Cheers -;)

I agree. I hated the 440's sequencer. I would get a Europa sequencer to trigger it. And if I am going to do that I should save a buck or two and just get a 2002 also. But my hands are full with a 1200, EII, and EIII as it is.
I am assuming the filters are the same on the 2002 and 440 right.

Hi,

Kinda sad to hear about your callibration issues.

I actualy work with an p2000 for over 15 yrs now. had several ones and never had any troubles with them.

I always wondered about the diagnostic disk. it's been sold out since winecounty set up their website.

Is there anybody with any information about the diagnostic disk ? does it exisist ? is it laying around at korg japan or what ? let's all send some emails to wincounty.... It's just ridiculous that it's just not there.
