Sounds like the same issue that Kurzweil K2000's have
where the J109 FET's (to stop turn-on thump) fail if a
lead with stray earth voltages is plugged in.

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
