I thought I had read somewhere that Roland was doing this,  but wasn't sure.  
Do you have a link handy?

One of my correspondents on the manuals issue offered to fill me in on what 
the attitude of the various companies was with regard to copying and such,  
but when I accepted his offer he never did get around to getting back to me.

I'm going to have to take a look at how those PDFs compare with the stuff on 
paper.  I am having some difficulty envisioning how they'd deal with some of 
those bigger fold-out diagrams.  One correspondent wrote to me of having a 
schematic split across four pages in the electronic version of something 
they'd downloaded,  making it awkward to work with.   A really big graphic 
file that you could scroll around might work,  I suppose.
