Vintage Synth Repair

Hi All,

I took my xp 10 to an authorized Roland repair facility because the the flanger or pitch bender was not working properly and the pitch of the synth was changing on its own. After 45 days and $60.00 the facility says they cannot determine what is causing the problem and said it must need a main board. This obviously makes the repair anything BUT cost effective.  

In the meantime I picked up another cheaply on ebay, but would like to know if i should just give up on the damaged unit and save for parts.
