We were an authorized Roland service center way back when (closed our shop 
in '92) and I never replaced whole boards...

It's a surprise to me that the place couldn't nail things down any better than 
that.

No,  I'm not particularly looking to get back into this stuff,  but if you 
really get stuck feel free to contact me offlist.  (Though I don't recognize 
the model offhand and would have to check and see if I have a manual for it.)
