Hello!
As I'm
not in your vicinity (living in Germany) I'll not be able to lay hands on your
Poly 61,
but I
can tell you theres in fact an internal battery. It's an accumulator battery 3.6
volts / approximately 180mAh. If your Poly 61 loses it's sound after switching
it off, you can be sure that this battery is worn out. Anyone with a soldering
iron will be able to replace it. the battery is availabel in any electronic
components stor and will only cost you a few dollars.
Glad
to help you in further matters,
Regards
Reinhard Hintraeger

me not to fix it myself. I am guessing it is not an easy task. If
anyone could help me that would be great.
