repair of membrane buttons (chroma Polaris)

repair of membrane buttons (chroma Polaris)

2001-05-21 by Kalani Dix

Hello,
I have a Fender Chroma Polaris synth that has nine buttons that do not
work. One of these is the "lower function" buttonn which is particularly
important. These buttons are the membrane type with a flat pannel, and
buttons that don't move when you press them. does anyone have any advice
on what the best way to fix these is?

I am also having MIDI problema with this synth. MIDI note off messages
are percieved by the synth as being note on messages which subsequently
sustain indefinitely, not acceptable. Any suggestions?

Thank you all,

Kalani Dix

1. Obtain a time machine. Go back to approximately
the time that ARP started developing the Polaris.

2. Find your way to ARP's research and development
department. Find the persons responsible for
designing this instrument.

3. The moment anybody says, "membrane buttons", slap
them hard in the face and say, "STUPID! STUPID!
STUPID!"

Please note that this method, with slight
modifications, can be used to remedy design flaws in
just about any synthesizer you wish to mention.
