FS: Oberheim DX Drum Machine

FS: Oberheim DX Drum Machine

2000-12-04 by Bob

Hello All,

For those of you looking for your next repair project - I have an
Oberheim DX drum machine that's basically functional, but has some
switch problems - a few of the switches "bounce" (multiple key presses
with a single press) - one "sticks" (acts like it's pressed when not)
- and one has to be coaxed into actuating (press and wiggle before it
"takes"...) It also has an LED on the "Song" switch that doesn't
work... I have copies of the service and user manuals - although the
user manual is from the newer MIDI controlled variant of the DX, it
still seems to apply... I also have what I believe to be a complete
set of optional voice ROMs for it... The wife says I have to be rid
of some of my "projects"! :-) So, I'll ship the whole mess to whoever
wants it for $50...

Thanks for the bandwidth...

Happy Holi

Cool! What's your address, I'll get it ready to go...

You can send money to:

Bob Smith
838 Harmon Rd.
Penfield, NY 14526

Just to continue the description of the beasty - it's actually in pretty nice
shape physically - and it plays the preset load just fine - speaking of
preset load, this thing was loaded via audio cassette like the old Korg Poly
800's (and others) - I have a load file on an audio CD that loads it just
fine - just plug the headphone out of your CD player into the cassette output
jack of the DX to load it. (I've done it many times!)
The funky switch thing just makes it difficult to program...

Later... and Thanks!!

Bob

Next week is fine - just as long as I know it's eventually outa here! (Keeps
the wife happy you see!)

Later...

Hey, I was just looking over my finances and 'cos I had to pay for some car
repairs out of my last check, I was wondering if I could either go ahead and send
you the check next week when I get paid again, or for that matter I could do
PayPal and put in my credit card now. Which works better for you?
