Alesis QS 6.1 Display

Alesis QS 6.1 Display

2013-07-13 by Samuel Adams

I have an Alesis QS 6.1 with the display being darker on the right hand side gradulatulating to full bright to the left.
The dark end is about 70-75% brightness of the right.
Does this mean that the display is going bad?
If so about how long before it goes bad and does anyone know where I can get a new one?
Thanks!

Thanks. Any idea where I can get another light, what the cost would be and how hard is it to replace the backlight?

You could also replace the whole screen, it seems like Syntaur has them in stock: http://www.syntaur.com/alesis_qs.html . Syntaur is great, fast and friendly service.

Thanks Mikael. Do you know if it's a simple plug-in replacement or is there resoldering involved?

Sorry, I don't know if replacing the display requires soldering, but it shouldn be too hard to desolder the wires from the old display and soldering them to the new one. Take photos or notes before you desolder!
