Re: Filter qualities?

Re: Filter qualities?

Grant is not taking new orders? This could be disappointing. What is the latest news on that? I would gladly buy used, however.

And Paul, thank you for the comparisons.

I am really excited about putting together this small system. It could be exactly the right size for me. After looking into the possibilities of the Waveform CIty, I think I might have more flexibility with the following setup:

WC
Env
Seq
Dual Borg

I think I would be very happy with the synthesis possibilities for that system.

Thanks
Jesson

I don't know that there is any reason the believe that Grant is not
taking orders. I have heard nothing to that effect.

jesson, i would also reccomend that system as being a good way to go about things.

i use the WC a lot in my setup, for many different thing(quantizer, analog vco, wavetable,
envelopes, vca...) and get a lot of miles out of it.

the dual envelator is just awesome, it is of utmost importance to have one of those in any size
system of wiard, it is so flexible and fun

the sequantizer is fun to use as an audio source, processor, sequencer and modulator

the dual borg is also the shit because you can use the LFOs off of it to mod other shit in the
system, you can use one borg as the filter and one borg as the output vca, all kinds of work there

i think you have a solid setup, you are gonna have to wait a little while to get your stuff but i think grant is
still takin orders for 300 stuff. so just dont get in a hurry to get it and place your order and im sure you will be
happy in the end no matter how long the wait.

i would def call grant before making your decision about modules and ordering...he is a great help in guidance on your
system for what you wanna do with it and also just about synthesis in general. i think its a really good idea to call him first
that way you know about your order and you will leave the conversation better educated on your module array.

It would be nice if he could clear this up. I would love to buy one of his frac modules but I'm under the impression he does not want any new orders.

I had an order in for several Frac modules and he cancelled it. No hard feelings, just sayin'

You might try giving Grant a call, his phone number is on the site,
it's his preferred way to communicate from my experience. He's pretty
great to talk to, and he likes to know who he's building this stuff
for. He may tell you no, and have a perfectly good reason to, or tell
you that you'll be waiting a long time, or tell you to try something
else. I think he was getting frustrated with being so busy all the
time and getting more complaints and hassle form impatient collectors
than positive feedback from the creative artists he goes to all this
trouble for. It's not like some of the other modular synth companies
that crank out batches of modules or get them built elsewhere, Grant
spends a lot of personal time building and designing his modules.
That's part of the reason why they are so incredibly great. He likes
when somebody orders ONE module and really spends time with it so he
knows they are getting into it, instead of a handful. I'm guilty as
anyone in that front, though. It's hard to control the urge to gather
all the amazing modules I see - It's just so damn exciting! But Wiard
modules are special, and Grant likes it that way. I do too! He also
posted a while back that he was hoping to spend more time working on
his own module format, and be done with the 1200 series, but they're
still on his product page... Hopefully he's just taking a well
deserved break!

Anyway, nobody wants to be speculated about on the internet... so if
somebody gets the skinny report back to the group! (unless Grant says
not to, of course)
