MSB and LSB are actually Most and Least Significant BYTE, I believe. One of them is CC #0, the other is CC#32. I forget which is which, but I believe MSB is 0 and LSB is 32. Incidentally, CC's 32-63 just repeat CC's 0-31 in the standard MIDI spec, so synths with better than 7-bit (0-127) resolution can use the higher CC's for "fine control": CC#39 will give you finer increments of volume, #42 finer increments of pan, and so forth. Using both bytes gets you up to 16,384 values (128 MSB x 128 LSB), much better than standard MIDI, but I don't think many synths take advantage of this. Here endeth the trivia tangent. As for ROM banks, I couldn't tell you offhand, but I know the info is around somewhere...Aaron? --- In xl7@yahoogroups.com, erik_magrini@B... wrote: > If you can send bank select messages, you can send MSB/LSB values too > (same thing, different name from what I understand).
