AW: [xl7] Re: Timecode o Midiclock

2004-05-08 by Frodo

The problem with Cubase as slave is, that it can't use MIDI clock as sync
reference. (As stated in the manual.)
I have the same problem since I want to have my XL-7 as master and Cubase as
slave.
Any suggestions ?
Is there a way to transform MIDI clock into Timecode ?
The problem with Cubase as master is, that it would not reset the XL-7 to
the starting position after pressing the stop button 2 times, but it does
function with XL-7 as a master. Then Cubase would stop the song after one
press on the stop button of the XL-7 and on the second press, Cubase would
reset to the starting position.

this confused me a bit - which do you want as the timing master, your XX7 o=

Cubase?

if you want the tempos to match, then you need to set the XX7 base tempo to=

you could use Timecode to sync instead of MIDI Clock, but you'd need a
device to translate SMPTE into Beat Clocks, as the XX7 only receives Beat
Clocks. these devices can be pricey, and you don't really need it. Beat Clo=

i had timing sync problem a month or two ago, and solved it by using the
highest quality (and most expensive) MIDI cable i could find for the XX7's =

sorry to be so vague on the Cuabse stuff - i use DP (but am wanting to jump=
