The Song Mode track (I think Emu calls it the conductor track) can use up to 999 measures if I remember correctly, so you should be fine on that count. As for track counts, you need to think of it like this. The Song Mode of the XX-7's really is intended to use Patterns for the majority of the sequencing, and as you know those have up to 32 MIDI channels available on 16 MIDI tracks. In addition, Song Mode also has ONE 16 channel track that can be used to record sequences that are independant of the Pattern data, or things like controller moves that go the length of the song (poor man's automation). But, there's nothing you can do to get 16 tracks in song mode without using a Pattern. If you remember that Tracks and Channels are completely seperate entities, then this isn't really a problem since that ONE song track has 16 MIDI channels you can use to sequence data. Just set the Track destination to MultiA in the Song Edit menu, and now you can use all 16 channels to record data. rEalm --- In xl7@yahoogroups.com, erik_magrini@B... wrote: > Song Mode only has ONE track, though it can have up to 16 channels on it. > That's why you can't erase more than one, that's all there is. > > rEalm > How can I record a song with 16 tracks and more than 32 measures?? I need that feature for my music. Thanks Again. Yahoo!
