And don't kid yourself that pro gear will guarrantee pro results either. I
have heard some very professional stuff that was done on a home pc with an
AWE64 soundcard.

I can't stand Peter Gabriel's music either - it may sound good, but that
doesn't make it any good. I think I'll pass on the offer.

Sure, you keep telling yourself that ;)

First, you can do a track with Behringer and a home PC then I'll put you
up at Peter Gabriel's home studio for a day and you can compare the
results.

Pro gear makes all the difference if you want to get pro results.
