my humble opinion on this: a tad of distortion and
grittiness sounds really _nice_ to me, not terrible. i
for myself would replace the word 'nice' with 'clean'
in the statement above. clean can be nice as well of
course. (i find myself listening to classical music
very often, actually. same goes for clean
electric/electronic music. i'm very interested in
music in general, not in genres/styles/scenes.) 

i got your point from the first post, anyway. so no
prob :o)
